Happy Christmas
Christmas was wonderful.
On Christmas Eve, I went over to my dad's. My stepbrother and his family were there. I hadn't seen any of them in years. Anyway, he is in training to be a minister, having given his life to Christ a couple of years ago. At any rate, he read the Christmas story out of the Bible before we opened up our gifts. After that, we all hung out awhile, playimg pool and stuff like that.
Well, on my way home, I decided to fiddle with my radio. As most of you know, my car radio had been on the blink for several months. Well, I pressed in the faceplate, and...
Well, it would have been too funny if "The Hallelujah Chorus" started playing just then. But it DID start working. But when I removed my hand, it returned to silence. Hmmm. So I had my brother-in-law take a look at it, and he got it working again. So that was one happy event this weekend.
At any rate, Christmas Day arrived, and I opened my presents from my folks. My mom loved her new ornaments that I got her. She got several "Red Hat" things from my stepdad. She got him an OU jacket and throw. I got my stepdad an OU hat.
After that, it was time to get ready for company to arrive. We served every kind of candy imaginable, breads, cheeses, meats, crackers, and chips and dip. Oh...I must tell you of my mom's seven-layer dip. It consists of beef, refried beans, green chilies, salsa, cheese, black olives, and sour cream. It's about as much of a Christmas tradition as baked duck is in other households.
Well, company cometh, and it was time to play Dirty Santa. I ended up with the sun-and-moons throw blanket that my niece wanted. I am now being shunned.
After that, we played Nerts. That is a really cool card game. It's kind of hard to explain online, but it's kind of a team solitare game.
Here's what I got for Christmas:
--An OU polo shirt from my dad and stepmom
--A new pink scarf from my mom and stepdad
--An OU purse from my mom and stepdad
--Two new shirts and a new jacket from my mom and stepdad
--Two sets of pajamas from my mom and stepdad
--Two pairs of fuzzy socks from my mom and stepdad
--A makeup set and some Bath and Body Works stuff from my mom and stepdad
--$50 from my grandparents
I also got a bath set from Brian Mays and a pair of Christmas socks from Misti.
I hope that everyone else had as great a Christmas as I did!
